IDI-75 - AN OPTIMAL ONES ASSIGNMENT METHOD FOR SOLVING UNBALANCED ASSIGNMENT PROBLEMS

In this article, a new technique namely IDI-75 (named to commemorate the 75th Independence Day of India), which is simplified form existing Ones Assignment Method (OAM) solving assignment problems, finds optimal solution given unbalanced problem (UAP). OAM, it required convert UAP into balanced one by introducing dummy row or column with 1 unit effectiveness in each cell. But, can be applied directly on without converting one. The requires only minimum division operation depending size rows and columns order have at least 1-entry number and/or only. assignments are made appropriate cells reduced ratio costs matrix. To test validity technique, 20 benchmark instances different sizes from literatures been tested. Simulation results authenticate that best produces all instances. Therefore, clever apply solve UAPs as very simple, easy understand, consume less time comparison OAM.
